Places to Visit

Rumi Darwaza

Rumi Darwaza, an iconic gateway in Lucknow showcases exquisite Awadhi architecture, symbolising the city's rich heritage with its intricate carvings and towering height. This structure features in most postcard pictures of Lucknow. Best to go early in the morning to avoid traffic

Bada Imambara

The Bada Imambara in Lucknow built in the 18th century by Nawab Asaf-ud-Daula, is an architectural marvel. It features one of the largest unsupported arched halls, along with beautiful gardens and a mosque. Do visit the the Bhul Bhulaiya (maze) in the premises

Ambedkar Memorial

Ambedkar Memorial in Lucknow honors Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, a key social reformer and architect of the Indian Constitution. features a park, sculptures, and a museum highlighting his contributions to equality and justice. The stupa and elephants statues are a sight to behold.

The Residency

The Residency, is a group of several buildings in ruin. It served as the residence for the British Resident General who was a representative in the court of the Nawab of Awadh. Also a good place to see remnants of 1857 Rebellion for Independence.

Chikankari

Lucknow is renowned for its exquisite chikankari embroidery, a perfect memento to take home. When visiting, don't miss Janpath Market in Hazratganj, where you'll find a vibrant selection of shops dedicated to this beautiful craft.
